seemed perfectly reasonable at the time - the long service leave was there for the taking, we promised we'd visit Jane & co wherever they happened to be in the world at the time, and we built the trip around that. Photo below - looks logical right? Long way to Amsterdam so figured there'd be a stopover somewhere in Asia (didn't check where - just assumed there'd be a choice), and given Amsterdam is so close to France thought we'd check out Paris...and of course Paris is close to Spain which JUST HAPPENS to be REALLY close to Morocco...
so we built the trip around the size of Europe...
And then I got the email offering a discount on Intrepid tours which of course we had to have a look at (JUST a look mind you, just to get an idea of where we could go) and then we stumbled across the family trips with promises of BFF moments for children, enriching cultural experiences and lifelong fulfilment, and wanting to make sure Sarah had some quality kid time the tour option suddenly started to look pretty enticing...
so we built the trip around a Moroccan Intrepid tour
which reversed the original trajectory of the trip
and changed the original dates
which turned our attention to other Intrepid trips, say for instance ones that may or may not coincide with a stopover on the way home, so with husband cheering "just do it!" in the background I clicked ok and next thing we're also booked on a tour of Vietnam and Cambodia.
16 flights later, yep, perfectly logical
