Wow. Just wow!

Yes today was what travel is all about. Sensory attack of smells, exquisite architecture, immense history, unfathomable, chaos noise colour explosion just insanity. So few words to describe, even photos don't capture the intensity and overload, but in a few brief words tannery, old city of medina, 9426 alleyways, opulence, buying too many things we don't really need but had to have because they are way cool, confronting and offensive, and best of all, a nine year old from England. Again tired and emotional so will leave you with some photos while Billy goes in search of beer with his new buddy Simon. Apparently mint tea can't replace beer after all.

  1. Yep, pictures tell many thousands of words. Thanks for gratuitous camels head oh vegetarian one - still, its local, indigenous (or do they import from NT)? Love the door knocker, can't believe you bought a pouf (doesn't the rug fit in the backpack -surely you could wear as a sunsheltering cape type arrangement?) Pat will love the fez pic (see comments!).Now I'm really jealous, keep them coming. Looks like Sarah's having a wow of a time! Nice headgear Sarah! Love to the travelling EmAitchMcGees...like Wilburys but more stylish.

  2. Aah, Morocco I'm missing it already. I've loved the recipes, the photos, the beer stories, the monkeys thank you Sarah, the snake thanks again Sarah, the costumes, the headgear, the camels, dysentery in the dunes, the food (wild figs and peaches!), the shopping (camel boots - my size, and you DID buy a rug, well done, can't wait to hear how it travels), the contrasts between dire poverty and super elaborate decoration and 17 course meals....arm chair travel, its like reading cook books for fun, nearly as good and far less effort....looking forward to next instalment!

    2. This is my fourth attempt to write a reply Robbie. You are experiencing the adventure of a lifetime and sensory overload is only the half of it. What about memory overload? How on earth will you be able to remember all these incredible experiences and put them in proper context? I guess it doesn't really matter because the picture as a whjole will remain with you forever. How will all this effect Sarah? I guess that is going to be an adventure in itself to see how this darling girl is going to absorb everything that she has seen and done. Love you all. Dad.
